Grant funding for whole class music tuition and follow-on tuition (progression) is available for all state maintained primary schools in Cheshire West and Wirral. Additionally, grant funding to support new musical activity is available for all state maintained secondary and special schools in Cheshire West and Wirral.

Schools accepting music hub grant funding are the commissioner of services and are free to choose who they wish to deliver those programmes into their school.

If desired, as Hub Lead Organisation, the Love Music Trust (LMT) is able to provide tutors and instruments to deliver these programmes.

If you would like the LMT to provide this service for your school, when completing the ‘Music Grant Application’ form (on the left below) please indicate your choice by clicking on ‘Love Music Trust’ in the ‘Delivered by’ drop down option on page 4 of the application form.

If you engage a tutor from the ‘Music Tutor Directory’ to deliver a programme or tuition into your school, the school has the responsibility for the following:

  • Any safer recruitment and right to work checks as required for the tutor to work in your school
  • By accepting the grant and engaging a tutor you acknowledge that the conduct and actions of the tutor are not the responsibility of the Love Music Trust. The Love Music Trust has no direction or control over the tutors within the directory
  • It is the responsibility of the tutor and the school to establish and agree the teaching timetable
  • As above, the tutor is free to negotiate their hourly rate directly with the school
  • You will need to submit a copy of the tuition invoice to [email protected] before the music hub grant can be released
  • As a condition of receiving grant funding the programme /tuition will be enrolled into the music hub quality assurance programme (more details around this will follow in due course)
